Day 3 - Greetings from Minnesota

So I got a chance to steal away...Bob is at the pool with the girls and I was printing out our directions for tomorrow. I haven't written much mostly because the girls are always using the computer.

We are having such a great time already. No stress and lots of beautiful countryside. The Dunes in Indiana were gorgeous. I truly had no idea how big Lake Michigan was. It was cool because from our vantage point on the lake we could see Chicago and Milwaukee in the distance. These cities look great, but nothing compares to our NYC.

After leaving the hotel early this morning, we drove through Chicago.. but not before I got the "exciting" experience of traveling through Gary, IN. Holy Cow! LOTS of steel and factories. Chicago was really pretty -- I loved the Sears Tower.

What do I remember from going all the way across Wisconsin? Beautiful hills and lots of trees. Oh yea.. corn, corn, and more corn. I have never seen so many cornfields in all of my life. We stopped to pick up cheese.. we couldn't resist. I also liked the way all the banks that showed the temperature put a positive sign in front of the number. Today it was +85 F. I guess they do it that way because there are enough days when the temperature is below zero.

As we headed into Minnesota the girls got very excited. They were fascinated by the size of the Mall of America. Cat went to the Lego store, Disney Store and American Girl Place. Becky went to Abercrombie. Where did Bob and I go?... wherever the girls went :)

The mall is ridiculous - it would take forever to see it all. The girls opted to leave there and go to the hotel pool which was .6 mi away from the mall. I'll let the girls blog about comparisons between this hotel and the last. My only point to make is that at least this hotel has an elevator.

Well, not sure I can stay away from the pool much longer. I told the girls I would get their goggles. I miss everyone so much, but I look forward to a wonderful journey ahead. I'll keep in touch!
