The next thing we did was take a trolley tour of the city.. incredibly interesting. The 2 owners of the trolley are young guys - probably in their late 20s - with lots of energy. The tour was just over an hour and took us through typical and atypical neighborhoods, sites down Route 66, University of NM (and we had to learn to LOBOS cheer). We learned about all sorts of movies and TV shows that have been filmed in NM (Wild Hogs, Terminator - the last one, Crash and others). There were even trivia questions. I won a lollipop and a coupon for a free ice cream at a local shop. The lollipop question -- let's see who gets it.... Who was the American author who coined the term "Mother Road" for Route 66? Any takers??? The last question was how to correctly spell Albuquerque. So obviously after the trolley ride we went and got ice cream. The girls and I love it here. There is soooo much to do. In fact, the girls want to stay another day to go to a science museum. We haven't been to any museums yet and being the science teacher, how could I say no to that?
We checked into the hotel and of course went to the pool. We've been here an hour already. My guess is the girls would stay in the pool all night if I let them.
