Day 14

We're Baaaack!

We have missed all of you more than you know. Here is a brief synopsis of what has been going on the last couple of days... We made it into Oregon and made our way to Crater Lake. I must tell you that we spent hours and I mean HOURS driving through the open range of Oregon. You've seen those roads on TV... the ones where where there are only 2 lanes of traffic, no cars passing you for hours and no speed limit signs to be found?? Yep, that's what we did for hours through Idaho AND hours through Oregon. Highway 20 is this road's name if you're interested in looking it up. Only a few times did I have to talk myself out of a mini panic (just a little drama here). Truth be told, it was a little unnerving (sp?) to be out there alone for all that time.

Crater Lake is probably the most beautiful place I have ever seen on Earth (so far) It is a lake that was creates 7,700 years ago when a series of volcanoes blew the top off a mountain and then selaed the bottom so that all rain and snow can fill it up. It is pure water so it is the bluest water I have ever seen. Add to that scene snowcapped mountains and it's just like you are in heaven. The girls were even playing in some of the snow!

After Crater Lake we drove to Redding ,CA and had a quiet evening. Today we drove into Frisco (as the locals call it) (Bob told us that) We surprised the girls by picking Bob up at the airpost...it was truly amazing. Lots of tears from the girls. Anyway, Bob came to rescue with a new laptop so that we can continue blogging. It will be nice to have Bob here to show us around - even if it is only for 2 nights.

I'll post some pictures in a little while after Cat has a chance to download her own pictures.
